he inanimate dwellers of transitional spaces remind us about the movement that we are about to experience – as well as the fact that there is something else awaiting – a non-movement perhaps. Paradoxically, the permanence of a monument acts as a necessary reminder of our own temporality – providing the body with point of reference within the continually transforming landscape. On the other hand, the same longevity that equips them with a reflective potential; often results in an acquisition of a different sets of roles over their lifespan. The intended meanings dissolve into the everydayness, resulting in identity chimeras, while the remnants of their previous existence remain kept by the sightseeing guides and speaking  to a more exclusive audience.
