Raku glaze, horse hair and feather technique on ceramics; willow bark, nettle and rust print on linen.

A Home That Hatches is a series of 14 unique ceramic eggs inspired by the stork as a symbol of home, return, migration, and continuity in Estonian folklore. Each egg carries its own story, reflecting fragments of collective memory and forgotten narratives waiting to emerge. Using raku firing, glazes, horsehair, and feather techniques, I embrace unpredictability and chance as part of the creative process. For the horse hair technique I used my own and my mothers hair to follow the idea of heritage and memory. The accompanying textile pillows are made from nettle-dyed cotton and marked with willow branches and rust, all collected from the environment around me, creating traces of nature and time. Together, the works explore how cultural memory is carried, transformed, and passed on through generations. The listed sale price is for one ceramic egg together with its accompanying pillow. The complete 14-piece installation is also available for purchase as a whole (15*300*300cm).
