Trying to recover from yet another heartache, after experiencing forms of violence, I became obsessed with the idea of climbing mountains and found myself dreaming of the raw force of volcanoes. I trained by climbing every small hill and rise I could find. I set my course toward lower mountains, where I discovered a small waterfall, many trees, and people, none of whom spoke the same language as me, even though I had tried speaking to them countless times, and eventually, even trying felt pointless. This tree, which I encountered on the mountain, appears as two separate trunks, yet it grows from one and the same source. Through this work, like the stem of a tree, I dance against this merging, trying to reclaim my own story.
