Tiia Unia Ulpukka Moisio Emerging artist
Artist is based in: Finland
Tiia Unia Ulpukka Moisio is a Finnish visual artist whose practice focuses on analogue photography, photography-based printmaking, and the material possibilities of printed media. Her work also encompasses artist books, bookbinding, and alternative photographic printing processes. Alongside photography and printmaking, she has studied video art both in Turku and during her exchange studies in Kyoto, Japan.
Moisio’s artistic practice explores the relationship between text and image, as well as the interpretive shifts created through different photographic and serigraphic processes. Her works often function as visual narratives shaped by fragments, layers of memory, and traces embedded within photographic material. She is particularly interested in how details within an image can reconstruct broader narratives while creating tensions between what is presumed and what can be evidenced.
She has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Finland and internationally, including in Japan, Norway, and Iceland.
