Martin Lazarev

The work of Martin Lazarev (born 1977 in Tartu), a graphic designer, illustrator and photographer from Estonia, provides viewers with a superb glimpse of the colourful clamour of the streets of Brazil and other places.

Martin studied furniture design and restoration, traditional drawing and graphic design at Tartu Art School.
In 2008 he moved to Brazil.  Now living and photographing in Brazil, he has received much recognition, especially for his skill in capturing the local people. He is one of the most talented and versatile of Estonian designers, and has worked with a number of different agencies. Martin’s photographs have been used on the front covers of Brazilian photography magazines. Traveling and observing streets and simple people, Martin rarely leaves home without his camera. “I am captivated by details and pure colour, and interesting, ugly, beautiful, ordinary old people,” explains Lazarev.
