Oil on Finnish fiberboard, protected with a varnish coating

This painting is executed in oil on Finnish fiberboard (Soome papp). It is significant as one of the artist’s earliest works created under the influence of Egon Schiele’s artistic language. It is also the artist’s first self-portrait, painted during the early years of study at the Pallas University of Applied Sciences.

All proceeds from the sale of this artwork will be dedicated to establishing the first laboratory for custom facial prostheses (epitheses) in Estonia and the Baltic States. The name of the collector or patron who acquires the work will be included among the benefactors supporting this socially significant initiative. As a lasting expression of gratitude, all benefactors’ names will be permanently engraved on a commemorative bronze plaque, which will be installed at the entrance of the future laboratory.

P.S. Included is the original frame, made in the 1970s, along with the mat (passe-partout).
