Where does art come in? We asked that question at Sven-Harry's art museum when we invited the designers Magnus Elebäck and Chris Martin, founders of the internationally recognized furniture company Massproductions. The exhibition Massproductions - Sculptures from the Factory examines the connection between industry and art, the mysterious "x-factor" - what makes good design great. Yes, what is the immeasurable special ingredient that sets certain products apart? Is it magic, logical thinking, or a combination of both? You can find many questions and answers in the exhibition's playful and artistic enlightening installations.
Award-winning Chris Martin is educated at the Royal College of Art and has previously collaborated with internationally recognized designer Jasper Morrison and architect Thomas Sandell. Chris Martin has received one of the biggest design awards in the Nordics, the Bruno Mathsson prize in 2020. Magnus Elebäck is educated at the Beckmans School of Design and has previously worked at, among others, IKEA.
Some of Massproduction’s most loyal clients include Cartier, Dior and Louis Vuitton. The design duo has also won prizes in the categories Furniture Producer of the Year and Furniture of the Year during the Scandinavian Design Awards 2023.
