In Contemporary Art Museum Kiasma in Helsinki, an exhibition “There and Back again – Contemporary Art from the Baltic Sea Region” opened on November 9th. The exhibition also presents the works of Estonian artists.
Topic of the exhibition deals with travelling and journeys – people do that, but also goods and working places. Journeys are different but they carry traces of origin and identity. Baltic region is connected through Soviet history, which still has its influences nowadays. The exhibition gives the opportunity to discover how artists think about this topic in their creative work.
Estonian artists who participate are Alexei Gordin, Flo Kasearu, Karel Koplimets, Kris Lemsalu, Jüri Okas, Jaanus Samma, Tea Tammelaan and Jaan Toomik.
The exhibition connects the art fields of Baltic region and Finland.
The exhibition will remain open until 24th of March 2019.
