Oil on canvas
This painting is a self-portrait from my childhood — not only a visual representation, but also a story about a very special memory. At a time when my parents had gone on a trip, my sister was looking after us. Whenever she wasn’t watching, my cousin and I would quietly sneak into her room and create our own little “fashion show.” We went through her wardrobe, tried on dresses, experimented with makeup, and for a moment transformed ourselves into the characters we dreamed of being. As a child, I wanted to be everything — a mermaid, a fairy, a warrior, a princess… It changed depending on my mood and imagination. And that time, I was a princess. This painting is not simply an enlarged version of a photograph. It is a memory, a feeling, and a part of my childhood that still lives within me. We all have special moments we want to preserve — childhood adventures, laughter, fantasies, and little secrets that become part of our life story. These moments are worth cherishing, because they shape a part of who we are.
