Intangible presence crossing borders, 2023

200 x 160 cm

Linencanvas, Linseed oil

“Intangible presence crossing borders” is an artwork that explores the concept of visibility through the act of removal. Created using traditional oil painting materials (linen canvas & linseed oil), the piece takes a unique approach by deliberately removing the pigments, leaving behind an absence of color. The use of a pen plotter in the painting process adds a layer to the artwork continuing to question the tradition and history of oil painting. “Intangible presence crossing borders” is a piece that encourages viewers to delve into introspection, questioning the notion of visibility and the representation of our inner selves. The work invites contemplation on the limitations and borders that shape our identities, prompting us to reflect on what is revealed when we strip away the external layers.
