Illusion Is Easier Than Flesh, 2018

153 x 102 cm
€1550

Oil on canvas

The artist´s comment on the artwork:
“I want to express the feeling of anxiety in your own body. How much easier it can be to present an illusion of oneself than to be real and complicated and contain multitudes. I also think that the sausage kind of thing feels pressured because it’s being looked at. It’s feminine and masculine and innocent and sexual at the same time.”

The artwork is part of the author´s MFA graduation project at the University of Arts, Helsinki.
