Jorilė Švedaitė ^{Emerging artist}

I am a student at Vilnius academy of art, the start of my academic career from 2018 to 2020 I was studying photography and media arts, from 2020 to currently I have finished my studies in jewelry and metal art. Throughout my studies and work experiences, I have developed a deep understanding and appreciation for the history and cultural significance of jewelry. I am constantly experimenting with new materials and techniques, pushing the boundaries of what is traditionally considered “jewelry.” My designs incorporate unexpected materials, such as found objects, repurposed materials, and non-traditional metals. I am greatly interested in curating different experiences for people to experience jewelry in many ways. Creating interdisciplinary art has always been my main focus and goal, I am moving towards it by expanding my multimedia skills. I am an eager person, who is not afraid to experiment and expand mediality in any way I can. I have participated in contemporary jewelry performance ŽIEDAVIMAS/RINGING II was presented at Contemporary art festival VIRUS. Recently my photography series called “tacenda” was presented at Contemporary media arts festival ENTER. My interdisciplinary jewelry and media arts work “i saw, i remembered” was presented at Amber Trip 2023. My work was presented in an exhibition called VIEWING. I was a part of a team curating the exhibition in 2023. My graduation project “Collect” was presented in Vilnius Academy of arts Graduate show in 2023.
