Carl-Christian Frey (born in 1975) is an Estonian artist who graduated from the University of Tartu’s Faculty of Law and the Tartu Art College in media and advertising art, where he studied painting under Peeter Allik, Meiu Münt, and Kalli Kalde. Prior to dedicating himself to painting, he worked for over 20 years as a computer game graphic artist. Since 2019, he has participated in group exhibitions, and in 2022, he held his first solo exhibition, “ÜDU,” showcased at “Promenaadiviis” and later at the University of Tartu Library gallery. Frey’s work focuses on abstract oil paintings depicting untouched primeval forests and landscapes, emphasizing depth of field and often featuring a mystical fog.
