Carl-Christian Frey (born 1975) is an Estonian artist who has graduated Faculty Of Law (MA) at Tartu University and Media and Advertising Art department at Pallas University of Applied Sciences and Art, where his painting instructors included Peeter Allik, Meiu Münt, and Kalli Kalde. Before dedicating himself to painting, he worked for over 20 years as a graphic artist for computer games.
Since 2019, Frey has participated in group exhibitions, and in 2022, he held his first solo exhibition, “ÜDU”, which was displayed at “Promenaadiviies Gallery,” the University of Tartu Library Gallery, and “Mikkel Gallery.” Frey’s work can be described as fantastical realism, depicting untouched primeval nature and themes from Estonian mythology while always emphasizing depth in his paintings.
