Watercolour, oil on canvas
Moonlight Suite II unfolds in a deep pennes‑grey field, where the canvas breathes through a quiet expanse of dark blue. On the right side, a solitary, abstracted bloom emerges – a distant echo of an anemone, shaped more by memory than by botany. Built in layered watercolor and oil, the flower becomes a subtle point of illumination within the nocturnal space. The work traces its origin to a small oil sketch I painted in France on my cardboard canvas, where a single petal suggested a movement in the dark. Here, that early gesture expands into a larger, slower rhythm: a bloom suspended in moonlight, surrounded by the stillness of night.
