Kalev Mark Kostabi, one of the most successful artists of Estonian descent in the world, brings his exhibition and concert show to the capital on August 15.

The event which will take place at Tallinn Art Space, will see the artist presenting his latest works, perform music with Greesi Desiree Langovits and chat with the guests.

Kostabi was born in Los Angeles to Estonian immigrants and studied drawing and painting at California State University. He moved to New York in the early 1980s and by 1984 became an active figure of the East Village art scene, winning also the “Proliferation Prize” for being in more art exhibitions than any other New York artist.

By late 80s, Kostabi became a prominent artist who among other things designed a cover for Guns ‘N’ Roses for their album “Use Your Illusion”. He was also a guest on major American TV-shows, such as the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Kostabi’s work is now in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, the National Gallery in Washington D.C., and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.

Local channel TV3 will also make a documentary about Kostabi during his visit to Estonia.
