In keeping with the tradition of Myymälä2’s Process Wall exhibitions, Martin takes this exhibition as an opportunity to experiment and put forth unfinished ideas in order to discuss them and publicly think of their effect on the audience outside of social media platforms.
Martin Dahlström-Heuser has graduated with an MA in Visual Cultures, Curating and Contemporary Art from Aalto University, Finland. He has studied fine arts with specialisation in digital media at the Valand School of Fine Arts, Gothenburg, Sweden (2009), and music composition at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil (2004). He has works in the public collections of the Museum of Art of Rio Grande do Sul (MARGS) and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rio Grande do Sul (MACRS), Porto Alegre, Brazil.
His work finds its impetus in social criticism through tactics such as repetition, vulgarity and the language of the mass media. Subtle forms of violence are found throughout his output, from paintings to videos and sculptures.
