The master’s project continues my earlier works using the same material and grew out of an interest in the paradoxical nature of the human species. On the one hand, humans selfishly reshape and damage their environment; on the other, they seek connection, care, collect, preserve, and create meaning. In this work, I sought to play out the coexistence of these contradictory impulses, touching upon themes of destruction, vulnerability, and survival. The work evolved largely intuitively, through thinking alongside the materials and through the gradual unfolding of meanings that emerged from them. Working with these themes, I have found myself observing humans and humanity almost from the outside, and the process became a kind of journey through time and space.
