Take away-home, 2026
wood, metall and glass
I have built a mobile dwelling resembling a trailer, incorporating glass elements that render the trailer unusable. The work is a reflection on the boundary between functionality and dysfunction. What does it feel like when something that is meant to move can no longer move? The work is also a statement: why must something functional be useful? Why must it always serve a purpose? Why is there such a desire for things to do something? The piece examines our need for productivity and action while simultaneously bringing action to a halt. For me, the process of creating this work has been driven by pure aesthetics and by the combination of materials. It has involved working with wood, glass, and metal, as well as experimenting with different techniques. The work was exhibited in the Bachelor’s Degree Show at Kuva/Tila from 10 September to 11 October 2026.
