Emma Vilppula ^{Emerging artist}

Emma Vilppula (b. 1994) is a sculptor based in Helsinki. She is currently completing the final year of her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Helsinki. Vilppula works with a wide range of materials, creating spaces in which art can be experienced in different ways. She produces objects that serve as gateways to unexpected experiences, inviting viewers to explore and engage with them firsthand. Her practice combines playfulness, suspense, and physical labor. Participation is often an integral part of her works: visitors may enter them or interact with them directly. In this way, her sculptures become experiential environments in which the viewer takes on an active role.
