Mindscapes, 2026
Oil, ink, oilstick and acrylic on oil and jute
The work represents a tower of my thoughts, layered on top of each other. The idea formed during the process of painting individual paintings in the studio. I realized that it is more interesting for me to focus on one thought at a time while painting, and when starting a new painting I want to move on to a new topic or thought. It was important to me to gather a pile of different thoughts and build one whole body of work from those. The artwork was presented in a way so that it utilizes the height of the exhibition space and at the same time made some parts of the work more difficult to see clearly. That way when the viewer is observing the work, some parts stay out of reach, which mirrors some of the thoughts that are also out of reach, like foggy memories. The work was part of our BFA-show this autumn 2026.
