From the installation “Melancholy”

The installation unobtrusively reflects the ongoing social political processes in the world, giving metaphoric meaning to the swimming pool as a dominant element of the installation. It reflects the uncertainty of future, highlighting the thirst for progress, as well as the tragic nature of its impossibility and stagnation. The work examines the installation building principles by studying the importance of painting, object and text interactions for a successful development of the narrative. Objects of the installation are depicted in the paintings but the elements seen in the paintings are made three dimensional. The artist’s book functions as a unifying element that holds together all the separate parts of the installation.
