Plastic cup and acrylic paint. A cheap promotional cup was given a faux kintsugi treatment. A critique of capitalism or an admission of defeat in the face of it? The kitschification of a traditional method of mending and extending the life of a dear object has by occidental appropriation lead to the cup being rendered useless as a beverage vessel due to the paint not being food safe.
