Album "The Metamorphosis", 2026

The album is the quieter, more intimate counterpart to Unsettling Interpretations Beyond the Theatrical Stage, my spatial installation based on Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis. Where the installation is a corridor the viewer walks through, this book is something the viewer holds – the same photographic material, the same masked figures inside the abandoned apartment on Bokšto Street in Vilnius, but experienced page by page, at the pace of one’s own hands. I wanted a second, private form for the project: something a person could take home and return to, the way you might return to a family album whose story you don’t fully know. The soft cover and saddle stitching keep it modest and unceremonious – closer to a found object than an art edition, even as it holds the same images that structure the larger installation. Exhibited as part of the graduation exhibition at the Vilnius Academy of Arts Library (VDA Library), Vilnius, 2026, alongside the installation.
