365 Unique Views, 2017

“365 Unique Views” presents six excerpts from the webpages of various Estonian real estate development companies, bereft of their usual photographic references and emotional content. What are the messages introduced to us daily? What kind of ideologies and normativities do they present? What is left unsaid, who untouched?

In the context of vast redevelopments taking place in the coastal areas of Tallinn, the ever-increasing privatized public space and the market logic manifesting itself in urban planning, this work also asks questions about personal freedom, the relations between the self and the other, the private and the public.
“365 Unique Views” was first shown on six billboards in Tallinn public space from 23.01.–12.02.2017. During the TASE’17 Graduation Show it became a site-specific installation right at the heart of a new development area, currently being under construction – the Noblessner port.
