Elena Benzoni Emerging artist
Artist is based in: Finland
Elena Benzoni is an Italian artist whose practice originated in painting before evolving into a research-based and interdisciplinary approach. She studied New Technologies for Art at Accademia di Belle Arti G. Carrara, where she developed an understanding that her work is not tied to a single medium; instead, each medium is selected according to the conceptual and material needs of the project.
Benzoni has gained extensive international experience through studies in China as an exchange student and in Belgium through the Erasmus programme. She has also worked as an assistant to the acclaimed Italian artist Andrea Mastrovito.
Her work has been presented in group exhibitions across Italy, Belgium, and Finland, including Second Life: Tutto tornaat Palazzo Vecchio in Florence and the prestigious Kuvan Kevät exhibition in Helsinki. She has received several material grants from the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki and was awarded the Kiilto Scholarship for her video work Just Wandering.
In 2025, Benzoni performed live at the Ääniaalto Festival and currently serves as one of the festival’s two curators.
