Astrid Strömberg Emerging artist

Astrid Strömberg started studing art in preparatory art school in Helsinki in 2010. These art studies lasted for three years and gave her a clear sense of painting as a material and also basic understanding on color learning. After those three years she studied one year at an university of applied science at the art program in Imatra where she had a year of studies in all the different departments there (sculpture, painting, printmaking and jewellery art). Astrid Strömberg started her art education at the Art University in Helsinki 2014 where she received BFA in 2018. She has finished her second year at the master program at the painting department and has taken part in the master thesis show Kuvan Kevät. Kuva Kevät was also her second part of her master thesis work as she had the first part “Non- Sense” in Project Room 29.3-14.4.2019. In 2019 she also got the opportunity to be part of the exhibition “Young Artists” at Helsinki Kunsthalle. The exhibition is based on an open call, with a shortlist of 25 artists and one artist group selected for this year’s show out of a total of 500 applications. “Young Artist” show is on until 26.5.2019.
