Allan Roosileht
Artist's country of origin: Estonia
Allan Roosileht is a legendary Estonian musician, disco and music lover, one of whose hobbies is collecting vinyls. In addition to his love of music, Allan is also very interested in art. "I think my first interest in art is related to my mother. My mother bought and gave art to her loved ones, and probably it was on her recommendation that I had my first great art experience at the Art House exhibition "Space and Form" in 1976. Since then, I’ve been an art lover. During college, I had the honor of participating in Kaalu Kirme’s excellent lectures on art history. These wonderfully warm and exciting teachings helped to create a broader picture of what was happening in the art world. I have considered Leonhard Lapin, and hence Kandinsky, to be my great favorite and inspiration. Music, especially pop and rock music, has always been associated with art. Salvador Dali teamed up with Alice Cooper, Andy Warhol with the Rolling Stones. "Metsatöllu" records have been designed by Jüri Arrak and Kalev Mark Kostabi has swerved into music. There are a number of artists and designers in the world, whose work is known by record covers,” says Allan Roosileht.
