Erika Aasa

Artist is based in: Estonia

Erika Aasa is a contemporary painter based in Estonia, whose work explores how people adapt to changing life circumstances and why similar experiences affect people in different ways.
In her paintings, she deals with emotional states that lead to internal changes: tension, vulnerability, resistance, letting go and the development of inner strength.
Aasa’s work is characterized by an intuitive painting style, expressive use of color and conscious layering of material. The layered painting process reflects the multi-level nature of human experience and memory and forms an integral part of her artistic thinking and self-expression.
Her works invite the viewer to reflect on change, resilience and the complexity of the human inner world.
Aasa has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and conducted various workshops.
