Rene Kari talks more about the story of the exhibition: “Some time ago I needed pieces of thicker paper. Postcards from my old paintings, which I cut up, were suitable for this – by chance, one of those pieces caught my eye, which at the same time seemed like a separate composition, like a complete painting. Out of curiosity, I poked around more and found lots of inspiration. These fragments motivated me to create new works. A series of paintings, which in my opinion, deserved to be exhibited as an exhibition, were prepared using the materials of two cut postcards. I surprised myself with such a return to my former works, which on the one hand was a coincidence, but on the other hand confirms the fact that the view of the past is not only a memory of the past, but with a creative approach can give impetus to completely new results and values.”
