Raminta Dirsytė (b. 1998) graduated the Art Academy of Vilnius in 2021 with Bachelor’s Degree in Painting and is currently continuing her Master’s studies. In 2015 during her Bachelor studies, she received Justinas Vienožinskis award given by the Painting Department. From 2017 artist participates in exhibitions. I emphasize the images which appear from “dreamy consciousness”. This ambiguous state of mind arises at the short moment after waking up or falling asleep. At this state of fading consciousness, we tend to imagine things in their essential forms – the same way we remember most significant characteristics of objects and phenomena from our dreams. Those images usually are attached with memories of experiences and it makes them significant. While painting I try to embody these senses, through surface, color, rhythm and proportion, also cultural signs.
