This artwork is part of the Master’s graduation creative project series titled “Loop”. In analyzing the relationship between the institution and the individual, the motif for the painting emerged from workplace routine, specifically from working with documents and questioning when a document truly becomes a document versus when it is merely “paper,” as well as what meaning is conveyed to it by the mark of a stamp. What, after all, does a stamp mean in a person’s life—a stamp in a passport, a stamp on a birth or death certificate?
