Blue Mirror, 2026

140 x 80 cm

Oil on canvas

This artwork is part of the Master’s graduation creative project series titled “Loop”. In analyzing the relationship between the institution and the individual, as J. Fox writes: “no other color embodies such a bittersweet feeling as blue” /…/ the ambiguity of the color blue, hovering between presence and absence in the mid-19th century, became a symbol of that generation’s empty search for the ideal.” Thus, the vague, incomplete, repetitive, and spinning process, turning within an administrative loop, can be identified with the symbolism of the color blue. It functions as a kind of emotional mirror of institutional processes, conveying the continuous cyclicality of operations where the final result (the sought-after ideal) is always merely an intermediate state of the process—one that gradually shifts from an imaginary final outcome back into another form of intermediate state (the arithmetic of liminality).
