The artist´s comment on the artwork:
“The work “SPLIT” is about the different evaluation of the Soviet regime divides the two communities until today. The Estonians reject everything Soviet and try with almost religious zeal to erase all traces of the Soviet heritage. For the Russians in turn this development is confusing, because for many of them the Soviet Union was arguably actually the country that improved their living conditions noticeably.”

All works submitted to the MyEstonia? competition were done during the artist´s studies in the Estonian Academy of Arts.
