“Smoke and Clouds” is a painting composed of two canvases that depict the merging of smoke and clouds. Though visually similar, these phenomena have very different origins: smoke is the consequence of an event, evoking a sense of danger, anxiety, or disaster, while clouds bring rain, symbolizing life and growth. Cumulus clouds in a sunny sky evoke nostalgic memories of peace and happy moments. How does one state transform into another? When do they intertwine? Is it possible to remain unaffected by the smoke drifting from afar?
