Glazed stoneware
The ceramics installation consists of 50 slip-cast stoneware spheres, based on a natural phenomena – mirages. The painting references the easily describable phenomenon – temperature differences observed between bodies of air shift light rays, causing a reflection illusion for the landscape. The work and wash of pigments are inspired by this phenomenon, as a mirage also allows perceiving an approximate landscape. The installation is not attempting to create a perfect landscape, instead showing its outlines by using wash.
