Usually depicted as an unbroken chain of events, in film it unfolds as a fiction – something that the human eye imposes on things as their order. This kind of time allows you to connect scattered events into a meaningful whole, but at the same time pushes out everything that does not fit into the frame of this story. It is the work of memory, which, as Walter Benjamin observed, is also the work of forgetting. This fiction is autobiographical insofar as it speaks to this oblivion. Also – fragments of experience that work imperceptibly and somatically in everyday life. Here, even the most banal, fragments of unconscious memories begin to dictate already conscious thoughts before we become aware of them ourselves.
