We were one girl We talked
amongst ourselves a lot We had no siblings
nor had we a mother and a father We didn’t
feel sad too often Badness to beat up the sad
invites After all we knew our parents were
alive hidden by the earth on secret bunkers in the forest We did not have a proper fostering
They said
We did not give anyone away
Every spring under our foot soles melted two
burning patches
Only later did I realise that I live in singular
