It looks at tourism with different approaches and wants to make the public aware of the extreme growth in tourism in recent decades, who is included and who belongs to the ¾ of the world’s population who have never traveled across national borders as a tourist. At the same time, the exhibition looks at how the pandemic highlighted how dependent many places have become on tourists: one in eleven jobs in the world today can be linked to tourism. The exhibition ranges from “all inclusive” and beach life on Mallorca and the Canary Islands, cruise tourism in Norway, to football tourists during the World Cup in Qatar and religious tourism in India. The project started in 2019. The photographs were taken by Rune Eraker. The texts are by Linda Hove Strand.
