Seven artists who all work with large-scale wooden sculpture have been invited to Trollhättan to create their own work. We will see a variety of artistic expressions when the material is processed with a chainsaw and hand tools.
The participating artists are based in various places in northern Europe and have been gathered by curator Chrisse Kuisma Karlsson and Trollhättan’s Art Gallery. Visitors can follow the work that takes place between the farm Åker and the 1800-year canal.
The artists start the week on May 15 with seven wooden logs and end it in a vernissage on May 21 with seven works of art.
The participating artists in Wooden sculpture – from materials to works of art are:
Siv Bugge Vatne – Norway
Joerg Engelhardt – Germany
Lies-Marie Hoffmann – Sweden
Essi Korva – Finland
Klemens Pasoldt – Switzerland
Ilka Raupach – Germany
Geert Vanderplancke – Belgium
For “Tree sculpture”, the city’s ecologists have put together a guided walk about trees for both young and old that can be taken part in throughout the week. You can find information and the starting point for the tips walk next to Träskulptur.
