Aet Ollisaar (b. 1966) is a textile artist and educator living and working in Tartu. She graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts with a degree in textile art in 1991 and has served as a professor and Head of the Textile Department at Pallas University of Applied Sciences since 2000. In 2024, she was awarded the Kristjan Raud Prize—Estonia’s oldest art award—and has twice received the Estonian Textile Artists’ Association’s “Textile Artist of the Year” award (for her work in 2023 and 2007); she also received a special award in 2011 for her long-standing work with young people. Aet Ollisaar has held numerous solo exhibitions in Estonia and abroad and has participated in many juried and group exhibitions. In recent years, she has created her work at Studio 100, a creative space located in the Aparaaditehas (Widget Factory) complex in Tartu. She is a member of the Estonian Textile Artists’ Association (serving on the board and as Chair of the Board since 2020) and the Estonian Artists’ Association (serving on the council since 2020), and is a member of the international organization Nordic Textile Art.
