It is often said that it is good to be different. But how is that which is different seen – when it comes down to it?
If you google “being different” the first hit that comes up is a link from BRIS with numbers for crisis calls and posts that start with “I look at families in a new way, families with healthy p since they look like I didn’t before because then I was part of them…”. Being different seems, if you look at Google, to trigger thoughts of loneliness, BRIS, crisis and illness. It is, I think, a shame and, indeed, even sick to make the immediate connection between different and wrong, bad or sick.
That’s why I’ve made a color cascade for exhibition as a tribute to all weirdos!
