The wrestlers are a recurring motif in the exhibition and can be seen in paintings, videos, large-scale wool rugs, 3D printed sculptures and digital sculpture. They are a development of the ancient marble sculpture The Wrestlers representing two men, which can be found in the Uffizi art museum in Florence. Eylerskov transforms them into two women and lets them become avatars for the hormones.
In Scene Located, Ejlerskov further examines the very location of the power struggle between the hormones. Inspired by a perspective drawing by the Renaissance artist Hans Vredeman de Vries, she has created an architectural scene in various media. A meditative overall installation is presented in Varberg’s art gallery. We are invited to explore at different stations a spatial place, but also a mental place, or a scene, for an inner balance in our flows.
