Carl about Carl: In my painting I look for two things, immediacy and movement. It is enough that I fulfill one of the requirements in each painting. Sometimes, however, I succeed with both and then it heats up a little extra. Some works draw more in the realistic direction and others more in the abstract direction, but I usually keep one foot in figuration. In higher resolution, however, all painting is abstract. Questions about color and form interest me a lot. Art for me, is what cannot be expressed in any other way.
