Luca Kleve-Ruud has photographed all the food the family has thrown away in 365 days. This has resulted in a portrait of both the family and society.

“Our Daily Waste”, by Luca Kleve-Ruud, is an embarrassing, frightening but honest portrait of his family. And at the same time a portrait and a reflection of changes in society, where the “time squeeze” takes over life completely, the rich become richer, food becomes cheaper and resources become less and less valued. A portrait that unfortunately many can recognize themselves in – and not just in Norway.

Over the course of 365 days, Luca has photographed all the food that has been thrown away by the family – every single day. The food waste has been weighed and divided into foods and groups. This results in over 1000 images, with associated information and statistics. Every day and every picture is a little story in itself. But, only when each little unique day is put together, will the big story emerge and show the whole of the project and the enormous food waste a family leaves behind.

This is the first time the project is shown.

The project is sponsored by Fritt Ord.
