„Getting My Friends Drunk“ is a series of exhibitions and events as unrestricted as the moment of drunkenness.

These nine young artists have graduated from the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague in the summer of 2018. During this project and its first exhibition in Kaunas this June, they want to explore and show the reason of being and working together.

You are invited to the opening of „Getting My Friends Drunk“ by the artists personally: „Expect nothing, bring your friends, get them drunk, be open, smile. We will take care of your drinks and not only. Get immersed in the environment of the gallery which is our temporary home for a week prior to the opening. We want You to come and we will be honest and open with You. We will end up being friends after this opening, no doubt.“

The artists are exploring a variety of themes, using different means of communication, mediums, methods and materials in their practices to express their ideas. During this project the artists will be living and working together in the gallery, having discussions and opening up their creative process not only for one another, but also for the visitors. On the 31st of May, Friday, at 7pm artists will open the doors of the gallery with the event „Happy Hour with Getting My Friends Drunk“ – an informal event to introduce the project, their practices and upcoming plans prior to the opening. After this introductory event visitors are welcome to visit the gallery prior to the opening daily at 6pm (between 1st and 5th of June) and engage in the conversations with the artists, watch closely or even participate in the process of exhibition being developed and see the daily life of artists living in the gallery.
