NOBA Nordic Baltic contemporary art platform

Ornament and patterns are the starting point for all of Edith Lundebrekkes artworks. Through repetition, rotation and reflection of simple elements, symmetrical patterns and formations appears. These elements can be arranged and placed in new ways and take on new forms and constellations, all in relation to context and place. New contexts create new expressions.

For this exhibition Edith Lundebrekke presents both two- and three- dimensional works. Two large reliefs of wooden bars are mounted directly on the wall, developed for the gallery room in FORMAT. The same bars have previously been included in other works and will take other forms in new contexts after this exhibition. Lundebrekke will also presents a series of small reliefs, as well as a series of risography prints and an artist book.
