The idea of graphic art, signed as Prints by TM, is to reduce the diverse daily life into minimalistic elements and to create new scenes between the objects decreased into icons.

Their graphic art is created as a result of common thinking and working process. The new pieces form a whole when an image will reach ambiguity with the help of the title – the latter is the key to the space of interpretation where words and images explain the shifted daily life. The artists create their work mostly using traditional printmaking techniques in small quantities. Monochrome graphic art simplifies the depiction of selected scenes as well as helps to focus on possible meanings of images.

Mariliis Kenkmaa and Tõnis Kenkmaa are studied printmaking at Estonian Academy of Arts. They started working together in 2012 with a graphic exhibition “Prophecy of Nothingness” (Hobusepea gallery, Tallinn 2013). Works from that show have been exhibited in Estonia’s Parliament gallery and in KUMU as part of XVI Tallinn Print Triennial as well as in Finland – galleries in Vihti and Tampere. Their previous exhibition „Power of Thouhgt“ took place in Haapsalu Town Gallery in 2017.
