Tiptoe, Stash and Avec Jeanne (exhibition view), 2020
Jeannes home is in perfect order. She does the daily chores like a precise and disciplined dance. If you look too quickly you would think that nothing is happening, but a lot is happening. Jeanne is a character in a movie I’m watching. In Jeannes home there wouldn’t be popcorns on the couch, she would have cleaned them already. But In my home there are treasures under the sofa cushions. I think about cleaning them later. After the movie I still want to watch something more, just because I don’t want it to end. I’m here and I’m somewhere else. The sun is shining, so I can’t see the screen well. I close the curtains and it feels both wrong and good at the same time. Sometimes I just wait the day to end to start over with a different mood. I look at the clutter in my home, some stuff seem to form piles independently. Maybe when I’m not watching the things are sneaking behind my back. They seem to have their favourite places where they gather up. I’m tired, I’m lying on my sofa and I close my eyes. I dream about painting and that makes me happy.
