The Oyster, 2022

The Oyster is a sound installation created to be listened to in an automobile. Through a narrative structure and a powerful sound system it creates an immersive atmosphere analyzing the relationship between a body, a vehicle and a city. One of the main reference points for this artwork was the 18th century discovery of the cardiovascular system and how it affected not only the planning of cities but the idea of society as well. The sound piece is woven out of a voice telling a story, the sound of a car engine and a sound of human blood pumping through the body all amplified with a subwoofer installed at the back of the car. The work was shown at the CAC sculpture garden.
